Critique my set up. Proper fitting not show.

    Makes sense now! Thanks!

Critique my set up. Proper fitting not show.

Can you please elaborate on how they are not facing the horse currently? I am not understanding. Yes wrap straps are on the list to to do but this is the second harness girth I have had that does not have what I would call normal wrap straps.

Critique my set up. Proper fitting not show.

Thank you! This is our starter set up. I'm in it for 260 all together and have spare parts so will likely be upgrading as we go. There were some straps in that area that came on the second harness I bought to add missing pieces to the first but wasn't sure how they were supposed to go on. I...

Critique my set up. Proper fitting not show.

Finally had a chance to get some pictures of my mare in her newly pieced together harness! Was a huge improvement from the last time we drove that resulted in my other post about shafts popping up. Please let me know what you see that could use adjusting. Yes the breeching on one side had rode...

    Cart shafts popping up

@Marsha Cassada She is a gem! Almost sold her as life was so busy for a time barn time wasn't happening for my riding mare much less getting all the equipment to drive. My husband said if I was that upset about selling her I wasn't. She is young what was potentially a few months sitting and...

    Cart shafts popping up

@Margo_C-T Yes it is a shame this person sold me this harness as "complete". The harness is leather. This little lady I will be driving was trained by for lack of a better term rednecks though these rednecks and their training did make her pretty much bomb proof. Videos from previous owner...

    Cart shafts popping up

This is great! So glad I posted here! I checked the harness finally this morning and it does have a little loop! But it looks like I have to buy a whole girth set up to get the overgirth so I may as well get one of the newer non wrap set ups. But what are the extra loops that buckle into the...

    Cart shafts popping up

Excellent! That was the same link I came up with when searching for something like yours. No idea if my straps are long enough to do that with. We are really just wanting to drive on a paved bike trail so there really won't be much elevation changing so a simple fix like that would be awesome!

    Cart shafts popping up

No pictures yet. Only had her hooked up twice and have been put on hold by life getting busy. No over girth to hold it down. I do like that though! There isn't even breeching...as I purchased an old show harness and I had no idea they didn't use breeching. Now I am looking for a new crupper...

    Cart shafts popping up

Hi everyone! I have not gotten any search results from Google so here I am. Finally got a cart and harness for my girl. She does great but we have had a bit of an issue literally pop up. Easy entry style cart and out of nowhere the whole cart pops up. How on earth do we fix this?

    Boarding Cost and Fencing

I am in the Cincinnati area. It's hard because my girls are easy keepers, I am no drama, pay on time always and do everything for my horses a good boarding barn could ask for in regards to routine care! I just am wanting good care which includes the girls being fed at a decent time in the...

    Boarding Cost and Fencing

After 2 years at my current barn it is becoming increasingly difficult to accept the issues. I am aware no where is perfect but it is time to move on. Issue is my new mini! Moving my big mare hasn't an issue in the past but the little one of course requires fencing that will keep a mini in...

    Choosing show halter

Now that I actually have a mini I am looking at what all we can do this summer! I am very lucky to live in an area with an active small/schooling show scene. I have never done any in hand showing but it seems like it would be the best option to get my 3 year old out and about. Being a multi...

    To show or do therapy...

Of course not. It takes a special kind of mini to do therapy work but as long as you are willing to hold out for one that can do both there is no reason you can't.

Hmm I guess the media album didn't work. Lets try again.

    So I did a thing...

Finally bought a mini! She doesn't have a new name yet but is she fancy or what?!?! She is 3 already trained to drive but green and such a cuddle bug! Her feet are a mess but my farrier will be out Saturday to work his magic. Fuzzy face photo was last night after I got her bedraggled self off...

Putting a value on a mini

@Marsha Cassada 3 is Super young in my mind! Almost too young as I wonder how many young miles they have put on her. CDE is of interest to me but my husband isn't a small guy and I am wondering if a 36 mini would be big enough for him to try anything but road driving. Great thought on the...

Putting a value on a mini

The mini will really be my husbands who has no goal other than take the little one to the bike trail for some relaxing driving. I on the other hand love to show and would like to at least play around at smaller shows in hand and in a pleasure driving class or two. Maybe even a driven dressage...

Putting a value on a mini

At 3 I am doubting (and hoping!) she has too much experience. I would be sure to take her for a test drive and have confirmed that the seller has the ability to make a test drive happen. The lack of papers really sucks and that makes me want to pay less as I won't be able to do any classes...

Putting a value on a mini

Posted here over a year ago and still haven't made the jump on a small driving equine purchase. Still looking to do so and this just might be the year! That said how do you determine how much a mini is worth. I know this is a question that varies greatly by region but what would you say the...
