    Is this lacing?

My boy has the weirdest pattern on his back. It looks like lacing, but it's not white, it's a brownish colour. He's smoky black. This pattern also comes and goes, it appears around the end of March, and disappears around the middle of July. Also, the different coloured hairs are shorter than the...

    Stretchy trot, training tips?

I've just moved up to prelim with my mini in CDEs, and I am wondering how everyone goes about training the stretching trot circle? When I just give my reins, my boy puts his neck level with his withers and lengthens over his topline, but he doesn't seek the bit and drop his head. Just wondering...

    Driving in deep footing?

Thanks for your help everyone. So I'll just go and see how he's like in the indoor and then go from there.

    Driving in deep footing?

Thanks Paintponylvr. So, how do I know if the footing is too deep or just deep enough to be good muscle conditioning?

Getting a hyperbike ready for showing?

I did some research and hyperbikes are legal for CDEs, you just need airless tires to compete above training level.

Getting a hyperbike ready for showing?

Thanks BSharpRanch, that's a good idea! Champ, I'll be using the hyperbike for the marathon phase of CDEs.

Getting a hyperbike ready for showing?

I have recently purchased a hyperbike (which I absolutely love!), but I am wondering how I can attach all of my show stuff (spares kit, number holder, etc) on it? So, for all you hyperbikers out there, where do you put your spares kit and accessories when showing? I would love to see pictures if...

    Driving in deep footing?

I am contemplating hauling out to an indoor arena once a week, it's a lovely well lite arena and is very close by, the only drawback is that the footing is deep. The arena was built for jumping for full sized horses. I am wondering if driving in deep footing could cause injuries to my horse? Or...

    Heavy weight blanket suggestions?

Yes, I keep mine clipped (or at least partially clipped) year round (conditioning for CDEs). I find that they get cold being outside with their current blankets, that is why I want to go to the next step up.

    Heavy weight blanket suggestions?

I've decided to go shopping for the perfect winter blanket now, so that when I need one I'll have one. I've tried the arctic twister blanket but didn't like it that much, it started to leak within a month of use, I also don't like the cut back at the withers for a winter blanket. I've also...

    Dressage help, on the bit

Thanks everyone, I'll try working on transitions and encouraging a bigger walk. Dragons Wish Farm, my mini is 6 years old and he has been driving for about 3 years. He has been in heavy marathon training since March. He is fine in his current bit and never fusses. When I say I would like to...

    Dressage help, on the bit

Hi everyone, I am looking for help with getting my mini more on the bit. Currently he goes just above the bit, occasionally going on the bit. What excercises are good for getting more collection and getting him on the bit? His current bit is a half spoon mullen mouth, a friend of mine suggested...

    Brand of this cart?

I was wondering if anyone knows what brand of cart this picture is of? I would love to have a cart like it. Does anyone know of a place that could possibly recreate it (or at least something similar)? I was thinking that possibly Silver Penney Farm could do it...

    Ownership transfer, photos

I bought the mini that I was leasing and I am wondering how to do the photos to send in for the ownership transfer? The current photos on his registration papers are of him in his fuzzy winter coat and black. My mini looks like this now, but when he is clipped he turns into a light grey colour...

    Aerocrown cart

I'm glad that it seems that the Aerocrown won't be too heavy for my boy. As soon as I have enough spending money I think I might bite the bullet and buy one.

    Aerocrown cart

I just remembered that the Aerocrown has a removable floor so that stirrups can be used. How much lighter does this make the cart? (I would take the floor out for marathons)

    Aerocrown cart

I am contemplating possibly getting the Aerocrown cart for my mini. My only concern is that it might be too heavy for him. Currently I am driving him in a 85 pound easy entry cart, he doesn't have any trouble pulling it. His previous owners tried to drive him in a Pacific Carriage smart cart...

    Harness fit

    I'll do that, thanks.

    Harness fit

Thanks Shorthorsemom. I'll raise the britching a hole or two and make it a little looser. The saddle isn't on his withers, although it doesn't sit straight, to my annoyance. Could it still go back more? I do have a trainer, but he won't travel out to my place (too far). Since we also don't have...

    Harness fit

Thanks MiniGal, I love his colouring too. ;) That's the only picture I have, but I can get more if needed. Thanks Studiowvw, I'll try that.
