    Is this normal???

I'm still very unsure...after she shed out she looked a lot slimmer. Now she's looking fat again but I did move her onto a better grass pasture so she could just be fat. I ordered a wee foal test so now I just have to be patient and try and catch her mid stream - which has proven impossible so...

    Is this normal???

I will definitely get better pics this weekend. Sometimes I think maybe she's not even in foal - just fat.

    Is this normal???

I feed Purina Strategy and she's gets a really good 2nd cut blend of orchard & timothy hay (no fescue). She's current on worming and farrier visits and she had her fall vaccines boosters (east, west, rabies & tetanus). I'm going to call the vet out for a health check and see if they want to...

Here's a side view. It's the only good pic I have at this moment. I will work on getting some better shots.

    Is this normal???

I have a maiden mare - almost 3 years old. I'm pretty sure she's in foal but I'm not positive. She shared a pasture with a yearling stallion for almost a year before he was gelded. I didn't think he had the skill or the reach to get is accomplished but maybe I under estimated him She has...

    Rope halters for minis

Great! Thanks for all of the help! I did find her on Ebay (seller name appartist)- I ordered one that is an adult size that should fit at least 2 of my minis. It was $8.50. The foal size is $7.00. Great deal!!

    Rope halters for minis

Maybe I was looking at it the wrong way...I have two minis that aren't the same size and I'm about to get two more that will also be different sizes (foal, 28" yearling tiny guy, 30ish" mare and 34" mare). I will thinking they were quick and easily adjustable. I thought it would work well for...

    Rope halters for minis

Any advice on using them - do you like them? Where is the best place to buy them specific for a mini?

    Shedding in Pittsburgh

I'm in Western MD - about 2 hours from Pittsburgh and mine are barely shedding. We had lots of snow in March and it has been very cold but in two more days it's supposed to warm up dramatically. I'm armed and ready with a shedding blade!

    A nap in sun!!!

Thanks!!! We actually broke down interior stalls from a friends barn so most of it was free (just sweat $$$). Some of the wood actually turned out to be wormy chestnut! The fence was such a pain - each post has a least 20 staples - all hammered in by hand! It was quite the family project

    A nap in sun!!!

I think they were trying to soak it all in. The high on Tuesday is supposed to be 8 degrees (not couting the wind chill). Getting their vitamin D, I guess One of them was even snoring LOL!

    Fun managable # of mini's

I have two but it doesn't feel like enough...darn potato chips you can't have just one or two I feel like 3 can't be much different than 2 so I'm working on a new addition.

I have a blue dobe that looks just like her What a cutie!!! Dobes are one of the very best dog breeds IMHO. They love minis too!

Substitute for bathing - does anyone use or can recommend a vac/blower?

Do the vacs/blowers work on the "winter woolies" or just a nicely trimmed mini? I'm new to the horse world and my minis are little dirt balls and we don't have a equine shower in the barn so this sounds like a great option!

Pacific Pintos Miniature Horses Foaling Cams

Is it just me, or is this like when you have your own newborn?!?!? I'm watching the cam and she is so sleepy and so still....I keep thinking "is she breathing, is she ok" LOL! Just like when I had my daughter...constant worry! She's so cute to watch on the screen - I can only imagine how cute...

YAY Treasure!!!! Such a cute little filly! I think I watched for a half hour or more today while the lil girl snoozed in the hay! Such a cool experience being able to watch it on the barn cam!!!! Thanks for sharing your girls with us

Pacific Pintos Miniature Horses Foaling Cams

She's looking irritated...lots of tail swishing, belly biting and turning to look at her belly...maybe soon?!?!?! I thought for sure if I didn't look at the cam for 24 hours that she would surely foal...not so much...
