    What do you guys think...?

Haha, Desiree, I was wondering when you would chime in I know that you are an Opie-fan. The only thing is, I'm not quite sure he exactly knows what fun is. Lol! He is so laid back, the only things I've ever seen him get excited about are apples and gatorade... we are probably going to change...

    What do you guys think...?

Ok. I guess I have to admit it to you guys now... lol! He really is kinda burned out on halter. He still looks alert enough, but he won't really hook anymore. That is my trainer showing him in the pic I posted, and that was like his 4th halter class at that show, so he was REALLY done with it...

    What do you guys think...?

Thanks everyone for your opinions. He does have a throat latch sweat on, and yes, I've always thought his neck wasn't quite balanced. It really doesn't bother me, but I just really want that last point! LOL! He is still being built up and muscled up, and we don't want him for a halter horse...

Ok everyone, here is the halter pic of him.

    Which harness should I pick?

We have one from Cathy Waxler, star lake tack. I believe it is her work leather, amish made one. It is good enough to show in, and very sturdy. It fits really well too.

    What do you guys think...?

Oops, typo- the SECOND pic is from when he was getting to skinny.

    What do you guys think...?

Kaykay- I just found a better picture of him in halter from the same show last night. I will post it when I can get to the computer. I know there has also been tough competition in the over gelding classes, with multi-time national and world champion horses and a lot of big-name trainers around...

    What do you guys think...?

Tremor- Its really funny actually. He did drive country last year, and HOF'd. But this year we decided to drop him down to western because that was what he was more suited for. He is doing very well. But, he looks like he would have this big, actiony, impressive trot, and then he gets hooked...

    Unspoken Horse Showing Rules?

I can't really answer your question, but generally people do talk to their horses, just very quietly. I think its fine that you asked if the little boy was ok. However, this post did remind me of a very funny story. A friend of ours went to nationals to show her horse that was with a trainer in...

    What do you guys think...?

Thanks guys. I was really just wondering if I was being barn-blind. I've always thought he was ok, not great, but pretty good. I guess the judges we have shown under this year just haven't like the "pony/quarterhorse" type look. We'll keep trying until we get that point! And tremor- lol! I'll be...

    What do you guys think...?

Ok, so we have an AMHR/ASPC gelding. He is 4. He has 69 HOF halter points and 10 championships. In 2009 he was Congress futurity champion, and in 2010 he was Res. National champion in 7 & under halter. I know he is more of a "pony type" and less of the arabian type, but I was wondering if you...

I figured I would offer everybody

Ok, since we mostly do multi-day shows, I'd like to post ours. It has a lot of things (some that we maybe don't need) but that's what get's brought LOL So sorry if its too long... Horse Supplies □ Halter & lead line (plus a spare) □ Longe line/longe...

    Need advice on showing.

I agree about getting an experienced show gelding. I would suggest that you look into like a horse that has been a youth horse and does halter, showmanship, obstacle, and drives. That way, in a few years when you want to start driving, you don't have to go buy a new horse. As others have said...

I too have trouble picking just a couple... But I'll try This is my mare, Rivenburgh's Sami Lane, in action. She's AMHA/AMHR and 50% aeronosa. And this is my ASPC/AMHR Gelding, McCarthy's Golden Opportunity (HOF) Some of y'all's horses are just gorgeous .

Getting him to stretch down on the lunge and a side reins ?

Do you know, if he drove or drives in breed shows, what catergory he drives in? That would help alot.

    A Disturbing Trend

I know about the gingering, however I didn't know it was so prevalent in the minis... It's so sad. I personally know some very popular trainers who do unspeakable things to their horses, just so the clients are happy that their horse won. I don't think the minis need to be "babied", as that...

Need Sum Advise about training minis

I personally think that she looks fine if you don't see her teeth... do you have any pics of her bite?

Need Info. on two Miniature Mares Bloodlines Please?

Oh ok. Sorry about that. I hope others will chime in about the sorrel pinto's bite, because I honestly can't remember if AMHR checks bites on mares. Even if they do, you could still show her in halter, they would just take points off. If she's very calm, I think she could easily be trained to do...

Need Sum Advise about training minis

Ok, sorry about that. Someone else will have to confirm this, but I think if the other mare has AMHR papers, and you can't tell her bite is bad from the outside, you could show her on a local level at R shows. I don't think they have ever checked my mare's teeth in R halter.. but I might not be...

Jetiki- Yes, those are from the fletcher show... It was a pretty nice show this year! Gotta love those decorations, LOL. Where were yall? There's a good chance we were near each other and never knew it You're right about the standing. I was trying to say that she should follow yalls advice...
