    Texas Tooth Law

The law in TX doesn't go into effect until Sept 2012 so your equine dentist can practice until then. After that they will have to work under general supervision of a vet which means the vet doesn't necessarily have to be present. You will have to get a vet that you have a client relationship...

I have seen something similar on our horses in Texas but it is chiggers. DOn't know if you have them up there but they are little bugs in the grass so my horses pick them up when grazing.

    Red Bag Delivery

First let me say the video for the red bag was great to watch! Here's my "but" and there is no offense to them they did a great job. I know it is easy to get caught up in the moment in a situation that calls for our help. I have always been taught and from everything I have ever read you DO NOT...

    Empty h2o buckets

Check your buckets for hairline cracks. I had one that was low a couple of mornings and when I started really looking it was damp underneath the bucket. I checked the bottom of the bucket and it had a very fine crack in it.

    AMHA Parade of Champions Video

I too watched* the CP class as I had 2 friends in the class. Was disappointed they showed primarily one horse throughout the class. (Again no offense to that paticular horse) but when my friends tried to watch the video from the split and final to purchase, the vidoe company told them they had...

    Barn Dog

LOL we have a wire haired doxie that catches mice then loves them! She will lick them and watch them until they run and then my cow dog will grab and kill them. Then the doxie goes back and can't figure out what happened to them.

    help with dogs

I don't post here very often, I also grew up in the country and have NO problem shooting dogs that come after livestock or run in packs. I have seen 1,000 lb calf pulled down with his throat ripped out and left by the neighbor dogs. PLEASE PLEASE do not leave out poison for dogs! It is a...

ATTENTION! All Horse Owners of Texas

I hope this link comes across. This is a link to the Ag Committee and all the members of that committee. I have faxed, emailed and called each member to let them know I support this bill. Several are farmers or ranchers themselves so I hope they will understand our plight. Thanks Traci...

    Really low prices response

Yes, John I also respect that this will always be a difference of opinion and each owner can do with their horses as they wish. I just hate to think that by selling without papers you are hurting any future potential the horse may have to be productive to someone, of course these are slim...

    Really low prices response

Thank you John for your answer, and as to you Stacy I can see the downside of having to spend more on a colt to geld him than he is worth as a pet quality mini. Many people don't want to spend more than they have to. I still just hate to see a horse leave without his papers because you don't...

    Really low prices response

    3. Our upper quality horses have been selling last year and the first month of this year, additionally we see no reason to expect to see any decline in those type sales in 2009. The lower end pet quality horses that are sold also have sold at about the normal rate of sales for the last 13...

Felony now in Okla. for floating teeth

As far as Texas goes the Texas Vet State Board hasn't listened so I have written my state representatives, as well as Rep. Sid Miller who is introducing a bill to support exempting equine floatation from the Veterinary Act telling them why I support this. I have let all of them know that I have...
