    Fence issues.

Hi Soggy Bottom! I have to put my two cents worth in here. I am like you, and wanted it to last, wanted to to look nice, with minimal maitenence. What I did was used the treated 4x4 posts, Put the cattle panels on the inside, and put my white wood cross boards on the outside. My first pastures...

    Feeding a starving horse

Just wanted to note for your stool question. I know of someone who could not for the life of her figure out what was causing this in her foal. Continued thru yearling stage, until she figured out it was a certain dewormer she was using. Might want to give it a watch, next time you deworm...

Height of side posts for jumps

Just wondering if anyone could help me out. I am making jumps to practice with and am wondering what the height is for the side posts that hold the cups. This would be the posts you have to lift your lead line over as they are jumping, so I want to make sure I get use to the correct height. If...

    Strange thing in the mail

Here in WI it is still voluntary. We did register with the state and the only thing I have seen from them in the last four or so years is a notice about the first case of , whatever it was, in the state for the year. And I believe that came last year. Can't remember if it had to do with horses...

changes of yearling to two year old colt

I would love to see pictures of what to expect for development changes in my yearling colt. He has changed so much from a weaner to a one year old. I am curious as to what kind of changes I can expect next spring as he becomes two. If anyone has pictures of their horses as a one year old and...

    This irks me!

I know of that at least one of the words listed in the very first email that started this thread is a farm name that someone has breeding for years and years. You may think it is a common word but if it is their farm name they should be allowed to use it IMO

    Orphan Foal

I completely agree with arion that the bottle is very important. I raised a orphan qtr horse from birth and she was pail fed too early and started turning her head around to her flank to suck on herself. I relieved her need to nurse by providing her with a calf nipple to suck on. I put a piece...

my mare had a foal overnight. I was not out there. Everything looks good with the foal I am wondering IF I should be concerned that she(mom) looks like she sweated alot. also can't find any left overs. Is this normal? Am I suppose to find anything? Babes is eating and mom seems okay. Maybe a...
