Comparison of responsible and not-so-responsible breeders

Last spring when I gelded my colt, it cost me $450 with the farm call and the sedation drugs. I think this is a big hurdle for those that want to do the right thing. I was so shocked at the cost I called around, and they told me it was the cost of the drugs that made it so expensive. In the...

    Ages (old?) of driving ponies

As far as the eyes, that was how my gelding started his uveitis. Years later he did go blind in one eye. Daughter still showed him 4H for a couple years after that. But eventually his 'good eye' had retina detachment. No more showing after that, though she still rode him. They are...

That is what I have, a solar box. I think I will try adding ground rods and a bigger box. If the tape worked it would be much easier Thanks!

    Desensitizing to sounds

I have been driving my new gelding around my farm for the last month. He does not spook at anything. I drove Dixie, my spooky mare yesterday and found the things she always spooked at she didn't, the most she did was look. So I am thinking I was doing the anticipating for her to spook, and the...

    fencing questions

I had to cover my wire tape with wire fencing, because with their long winter hair they didn't seem to feel the shock (it was on, I tested it) They just walked right through it. I would prefer livestock panels though, making a sold barrier.

How much hay do you feed per day/per horse? I mean the weight.
