Crystal update [Is she pregnant?] LOL

She sounds like my mare. Mine is only 6 but hasn't had anyone to really bond with (we suspect she may have been an Amish horse at one time but not 100% sure). She has taken a long time to warm up to me. Mine is pregnant and due around March- April (best guess since she was with the stud an...

My sister is coming to stay the night tonight, and my husband will be at work, so we'll probably just order in some pizza or something.

Does Anyone Else Have a Filly that...

Ground driving is so much fun! I started teaching my Halo when she was a yearling because I did so much other ground work with her I had run out of things to do at that point haha. At that time we were living on a back road with a store at the end (about a mile). We had Amish neighbors so no...

Does Anyone Else Have a Filly that...

NONE of my horses play lol. I have a Halo as well, she is a Quarter Horse. She used to play a little as a baby if I'd get out there and run around with her. Even now if I get out there and ask her to move around she'll run a little, maybe throw in a buck or two. Very rarely (like three...

    Neighbor Rant

We have had similar problems with neighbors. They do not throw clippings in to the horses but I have caught them on several occasions feeding the horses SOMETHING but no clue what. I put up a polite handwritten "please do not feed the horses" sign on the side I was catching them on. I am not...

Coat Color and Pattern likes and dislikes

I love Palominos or chestnuts with flaxen... I LOVE flaxen on horses. My Red Dun mare has a flaxen mane that I just adore. In general, I don't really like pintos or horses with a ton of white (but have a few anyway lol).... I just don't like trying to keep them clean!

New little filly - Suggestions welcome!

Thanks everyone! This is two days post de-worming (it was Anthelcide which was all I had on hand...getting to town this week though so I can pick up whatever else you think I should give her). The weight tape said 118 pounds so I did a little less than 100 pounds because I didn't want to...

New little filly - Suggestions welcome!

Hi everyone . I joined here a while back but life got in the way and I haven't been on lately. The other day I bought a little Mini filly who needed a home. Unlike my other "Minis", she is actually Mini sized. She is very tiny! She is clearly very wormy, and pretty skinny under her...

    Stall kept or run-in shelters?

I have a 2 year old daughter and have been the only one to care for her and the horses since she was born (I have a husband but he works nights so sleeps during the day and can't help with chores, etc). Speaking from experience having the run ins is MUCH easier. If I had stalls, there's no way...
