Hello,

I was wondering if there are any different guidelines for vaccinating a weanling mini than a full-sized horse? I have a 6 month old mini and he's had no vaccinations.

Thanks.

Your foal will need two shots; give the first one then reboost it 4 weeks later. This will be neccesary for each vaccine you use this first time. After this year, your foal turned horse, will just need annual boosters BUT depending on where you live some vaccines are given twice a year to provide protection.

Hope this helps some.

And it makes no difference if it is a small mini or a full sized horse the same amount of vaccine is given to both because vaccines are not given according to wt. like a dewormer is.
