patent leather

Hello! New to minis, and was wondering, can you use a patent leather harness for all phases of CDE? I cannot seem to find this information online anywhere. Thanks!

If you are talking about the biothane harnesses I cannot see why not. I know in CDE dressage you want to look your best so I would use a leather harness with patent accents. The patent on harness' now aday is more of a coating or finish then a type of leather.

Biothane isn't leather, its more plastic like, whereas betathane is soft and looks more like leather. You will actually see more people use the betathane during CDE events because its easier to clean vs leather but no there is nothing wrong with using patent leather, just be sure to get a comfortable harness for CDE.
