Just read your post, sooo sad. I know what it's like to take them to a cheaper vet and it end up costing you more in the end anyway. Had that happen, the vet screwed my horse all up, scratched his urethra and he was in the hospital for 2 weeks peeing out his back end. So my prayers are w/ you Peggy. I pray she will get well soon. That's just awful!

I know of some people who had lots of sinus problems with their horses and several had surgeries, but I never saw the horses myself. Sounds gruesome.

I really hope your mare will be ok!

Gosh Charlotte - I am thinking it was powder packets that I sprinkled on her food. That was way back in March/April. I just had to give it again to the two foster mares for heaves and that is how I gave it and it works wonders.

I will try to look it up and see for sure though.
