Is there a local newspaper or farmers radio station in Mexico, MO? If so, try running an ad and see.

Sue,

You sure did, even if I don't find what I was looking for I am really glad to have found this forum. I've nearly gone cross eyed reading all the great posts!

:saludando: Hey Lewella!!!

Steph, thanks for the welcome. I'm not that far from you, we're just north of Springfield, Mo.

Hi,

Welcome to the forum! Your guy is a cutie for sure. Too bad he isn't still a miniature or we would need to talk lol. I'm from SW Missouri as well. You can find me between Sarcoxie and Pierce City. Not too many people know where Wentworth is.

Don't know any farms in Mexico, but I believe that they have a miniature horse auction in Mexico every so often each year. I think they got a website as well. Perhaps they can give you some information. Hopefully someone here will know more about it.

Robin,

Thanks for the idea, I hadn't thought of that or checked into the local paper.

Cathy

Sarcoxie huh? Hey I've been through there a few times, Pierce City too. I've seen the Wentworth sign I think but I don't remember where I saw it.

Did you get some of the tornado damage afew years ago when they went through here?

My little appaloosa pony mare lost her left eye in those storms.

She was still very young so she doesn't know the difference and has never even been spooky on that side. She's going to have her first foal this spring by Studley.

Thanks for the welcome, and I didn't know about the miniature horse auction, that's an excellent bit of information

If anyone knows about a website there, I'm going to do a search for it but any more help is appreciated.

Cathy

Guess what?? :aktion033:

I didn't find a website for the Mexico, Mo auction but I found an ad by them on a classifieds sight after a brief, lucky search.

They were advertising a draft horse/mule sale that happened bak in September! So, I saved the information and phone number, there was no email. I'll give them a call tomorrow.

It's been a couple years since he would have gone through the sale, but it's the closest I've come yet to finding anything about miniatures in that area.

I am thinking he's such a unique color that someone may remember "something "

Thank you!

Cathy

That is, "if" he went through the sale there, and it's certainly possible

The boyfriend may have picked the two little colts up there and just commented they came from Mexico, Mo. I suppose he could have come from anywhere then. I am in hopes that if he did sell there, the breeders are frequent sellers and are fairly local. I'm beginning to think it might be "possible" to track down where he came from now.

I'm sorry I can't help you ...but just wanted to chime in and say what a gorgeous little guy you have there! He's gonna be an awesome driver for you! You'll have to stick around and share some driving pics once he gets going. And welcome to the forum....from the beautiful pine barrens of the Wharton State Forest in southern NJ! :saludando:

Well they say if you blink you miss Wentworth its that small lol. No all we had was a bad storm, but it literally just missed us. Sorry about your mare, that had to be tough.

His color is amber champagne. I just got his DNA test results back and he's homozygous black and Aa so he's a bay with the champagne gene......and appaloosa spots. When he's wet you can see a lot of spots but when he's dry some are really hard to see, just the large darker spots show up then, but he has spots over his back and down his sides that are small and over his regular coat color. He does have a small patch of white over the top of his rump but it's hard to see unless he's wet too.

My little appy mare in foal to him is loudly colored, and silver dapple. This foal should be pretty wild colored too.

Hi Cathy! I just wanted to welcome you to the forum! This is the best place to be!

Hey Cathy,

When is that possibly loud appy foal due next year?

I have forgotten if you already once said.

I can't wait to see him/her!!

Hi and welcome!

There is a champagne registry which also includes minis. Not sure if they can help in finding his information but there isn't a lot of champagne minis around either.

If your interested you can register him there too I think?

Anyway he is a very handsome guy!

Good luck in your search...... :saludando:

Thanks everyone!

Susan,

Sheena is due the end of May. She's about 44 or 45 inches so it should be a nice sized taller pony, nice for driving and a good size for kids to ride too. I'm keeping her if a filly but I'll be selling him if a colt.

I can't believe it won't have some spots with her background, all loud loud appaloosa. He has a few spots but I think she would produce spots with a solid stallion.

Firefall, are you talking about the ICHR? He's being registered there now. I have just been waiting to get hair pulled then color tests so I could put his correct color on the papers. They have a lot of nice champagne mini's don't they Susan and Lewella??

He's not trotty and may be gaited but I haven't put my finger on what he's doing yet. If I can get a video tape of him doing any sort of smooth gait, he will also be eigible and I'll register him with the American Gaited Pony Registry.

My registered Missouri Foxtrotter mare is in foal to him and due in June. That foal will be registered in the new Missouri Foxtrotting Pony registry (MFTPBA) and ICHR if it's also a Champagne color and the AGPR if gaited and it should be, Erin has already produced some good gaited mules for us. She's 13.3 hands and she Luvs

Robin and Jeri, thanks for the kind welcome, nice to meet you all :saludando:

Cathy

Yep Cathy, the minis in the ICHR are really growing! In numbers that is! haha

It has been loads of fun to watch the different lines of minis that turn out to be ICHR verified champagnes as they have been discovered over the past 5 years! :)

I am lucky to have and to have bred just a few of them. :)

I wil be excited also to see your MFT Studley foal!! I get excited just to think about foaling season each year!

Susan O.

NICE looking guy you have there!! :aktion033: Sure hope you can track something down on him, he sure looks like he has some breeding behind him.

I know that when I managed the RF Bar Ranch.. (we specialized in miniature Appaloosa horses and we were located in Riverdale, CA) we sold some horses down that way about 8 years ago, including a dun leopard son of Tiny Tim, I THINK that his name was RF Bars Tiny Warrior. Let me take a look at the old paperwork and see if anything rings a bell.

Anyway, good luck with him and I, too, will be looking forward to seeing what he produces for you.

Suzy,

That would be very nice, thank you.

I haven't gotten hold of anyone at the Auction barn there in Mexico, Mo. yet.

I'm really hoping there's someone there that would have notied him if he went through a sale there. I know I would remember and those guys at the sale barns seem to know everyone.

Cathy

It's way off topic, but how do you all make the avatar's that are like a slide show? Very nice!

Does it take special software?

Cathy

Cathy,

He's beautiful! This probably isn't much help, but I have two thoughts. First, ANY chance you know any info about the boyfriend? I'm asking because there is a young man here in the Troy, MO area that I've known to buy unregistered minis at auctions and from individuals. He's currently the age of a college freshman. I don't want to post his name, ect on here, but if you know any details, email me. Second, I'm under the impression that all minis registered with ICHR go back to Dell Teras Hippy. It's hard to say if you're guy is an oversized mini or a pony, but I would think there would be some way to compare your guys DNA to a relative of Hippy. I have a mare that goes back to him but she's not DNAd yet. But there are TONS of his bloodline out there. If you don't have access to the pedigree info, I can look it up for you.

Probably just another dead lead, but it may be something. Good luck!
