You have my deepest and most sincere sympathy. Just yesterday I had my beloved cat of 18 years euthanised. I knew I was going to have to make this decision and yesterday the time for the decision had come. It was not easy. My cat was as much a part of my life as any human in my life is. She is gone but will always be alive in my heart and in my memories.

I am so sorry for your loss of your adorable dog. I share your tears and sadness.

awwww...I'm sorry to hear that!!! There is always that risk under anesthetic......it is just soo heartbreaking though, no matter how they go.....they are just such a big part of your life.

Please know we are all thinking of you

I am so very, very sorry....I know words right now cannot even touch the heatache you must be going thru. I think all of us dog owners at one time or another think about the anesthesia risks each time our furbabies have to go under...even for a simple procedure. I'm so sorry that your little Fizzy is gone now...just so sorry......

I am soo sorry for your untimely loss. I am sure that your vet is devastated too. Having worked for a vet for a while when I was younger, I know that it is very rare for this kind of thing to happen, but it does on occasion. I saw one vet, a middle-aged man, work frantically to revive a little dog like yours and when he couldn't he broke down and cried. That dog had been in for a routine dental appt. and just had a horrible, tragic reaction to the anesthetic.

Sending huge hugs your way, I am sure you are in total shock. I feel so bad for you.

 I am so sorry for your loss, there are no words really.

I am just sitting here reading through everyone's posts and tears streaming.

I lost Baby nearly 3 years ago and it seems like yesterday.

She was my 1.8 pond Yorkie and my little angel.

No one will ever take her place in my heart but I was so comforted by the other furry friends in my life that let me hug and cry on them.

Let it flow, as it is a healing thing and there is some measure of comfort knowing we are among friends.

Take Care,

Cathy Hill

{{{hugs}}} from AZ too, in 2005 we lost 5 equines and 2 dogs, and only two were "expected" (i.e. they had reached the point in life where euthanasia was the kindest option). we were determined that 2006 would be a better year and it was, until the fall - one of our dogs got out recently and was hit by a car. it hurts so much to lose them, no matter how many you have each one is special. as you can see by the number of posts you are not alone in your grief and we all care and offer our support in this awful time. if you will please share with us what you find out tomorrow...

Oh no, I am so sorry, please know I am thinking about you all, this is just so sad, it makes me cry.

I made this photo up from the last picture I found of Fizzy - I wanted to make a card for the Vet's office - they aren't going to charge us anything at all for the surgery... I thought that was awfully nice of them. I still haven't managed a day without crying - their phone message just started me all over again.

I'm so sorry for your loss. I do understand how awful it is & how empty you feel. I didn't even read your whole post or the other posts here because I honestly can't take it. I lost my Dear Prudence more than 2 years ago & will never get over it. I cried everyday for a long time. And still do at the mention of her name. And I know she'd never want me to be sad.

So, I can't offer words of encouragement, only whisper to you that there is someone else out there who needs a home & is waiting for you, when you're ready. Pru's spirit led me to my new girl - Ursa. I swear they must have known each other on another level. Again, I'm so sorry. - karen
