David and I have brainstormed all day for a way to winterize our 3 150 gallon stock tanks beginning this month the cost to run them is 300.00 per month. We think we have a plan......We challenge everyone to try and devise a better 150 gallon winterizer. We are located in MI the temps here go below 0. We will post pictures of the process and the results in May. Let the games begin!

Gosh, that is a lot of dollars going out!

It has been awhile since we have had to use stock tanks but back when we did, my husband wrapped them in foam, wrapped again using tarp, then dropped a submersible heater within a frame built in the tank that was covered to keep inquiring lips off of the equipment. The homemade insulation seemed to help reduce the cost somewhat.

Good luck.

As your 'neighbor' in MN, we feel your cold!
