This discussion prompted me to look up rabies statistics in my state. According to the state dept of health, my county has not had a rabies case reported in many years. The metro area around OKC has the most cases. Of course, just because something hasn't been reported doesn't mean it hasn't happened. But I am feeling a little more at ease.
