What does leadership mean to you?

What does leadership mean to you? What does it take to be a good leader?

Some of the characteristics I think it takes to be a good leader are:

Intelligence

Character

Decisiveness

Compassion

Confidence

Dedication

Assertiveness

And I don't know a one-word description to sum this up, but the ability to evaluate how "the current plan" is working and make changes as needed to take into account the progress and outside factors or previously unanticipated events.
