What color do you think this filly is?

Here is our 2007 black filly.

she was born jet black.

We clipped her on mother's day look what we got under that fur.

so what color is she?Her tail and mane is solid black with no grey hairs.

Her sire is grey born blue roan

dam is black pinto with roaning.

She is tiny gal. I need to measure her. I am thinking around 28-29 inches 30 at the most.

I would have to say if she didn't roan out when she shed out her baby fuzz last year she is a black going gray. All my roans looked roan come summertime.

If she is greying out will her mane and tail stay black,because she has no winter hairs in her mane or tail right now.

She is going grey. I doubt her sire was born roan, but instead that is what the people thought he was. Grey is often passed off as roan. She does have gray on her head you can see it in the last pic, when they are born that dark its a good indicator of going grey

Mane and tail are one of the slower things to turn gray.
