Weaning?

Will mother Donkeys wean their own foals or do they need to be seperated? If they need to be seperated, at what age?

Hi There farmdude! I weaned mine at about 6-7 months, there was no big hurry to do it, so I left him...as long as I didnt feel he was taking TOO much out of my jenny. (like losing weight and constant nursing) my jenny was also beginning to nip at him when he would nurse, so it was time. That was my hinny and Ella. Talk to you later, Corinne
