We have a mare and foal that was born in May. We weaned him completely a little over a month ago. They live in separate stalls. Anyhow, how long do they have to be separated before I can turn them back out together? or possibly live in the same stall? the foal is still a stud, but the mare is rebred to foal again in May, so he shouldn't be able to breed her.

It's rather individual. Some mares will take their foals back for months after weaning; others are ready after 6 weeks or so (and are definite in their no way, no how).

I've only weaned one so not much experience but I waited until her udder dried up which took about 5 weeks or so. When I put them back together I watched carefully for her trying to nurse, which only happened once or twice and mama said no. That was the end of that and they were fine. Very easy in my case.
