I don't know what to say other than I keep checking this thread to see if there is an update, but also worried I might actually see the update.

My thoughts and prayers are with you and Jedi. I know how upset you must be and my heart goes out to you.

I really hope you get better than expected news from your vet.

I am so sorry you are going thru this.

We have not heard from the radiologist yet... seems like the day is just dragging by waiting for the phone to ring. It was sent out as an urgent consult so hopefully they will have results tomorrow.

Thank you for your continued prayers and thoughts. I'd never have dreamed we'd be in this situation, it really just feels very surreal right now

Of all the things we thought might be wrong with his leg this never entered our heads.

Just checking in this morning. Hopefully they will get back to you today. I know how hard this is on you

Hi Shauna,

Thinking of you guys and hoping for better news.

Well, it looks like the radiologist left before he got to it and now won't be available until the 4th!!! We talked about sending it elsewhere but myvet says this guy is THE vet to look at the films and he's comfortable with waiting for him.

We've got Jedi on a maintenance plan for now - I have NO plans to put him down until absolutely necessary but of course he needs to be pain-free as well so after much back and forth phone calls and decisions we finally have a battle plan to hold out until the 4th.

So, he's tightly confined so he's supported and has just enough room to lay down if he wants but can brace himself to get back up. He is not allowed to walk atm and is sedated and also gettting Banamine, Tagamet and Adequan injections. We plan on slinging him in the next day or two if needed. I have NO IDEA what we will do after the films are read but for now we have a plan.

Thanks for all your continued thoughts and prayers!

Shauna,

I can't believe you have to wait even longer but it's obvious you have a course of action to get you to the 4th so that is the good news. We're keeping you and Jedi in our thoughts.

Oh My, I just found this. I am so sorry to hear what you and Jedi are going thru. Please know you are in my thoughts and prayers here. Poor little guy!! Hugs!!

I just cannot believe they are making you wait that long!!!!!!

I know how hard this must be on you. Hang in there and we are all pulling for Jedi!!!

I'm so sorry you'll have wait even longer now to find out. My thoughts & prayers go out to you & Jedi.

Just a little update ~ Jedi is hanging in there. I have gotten some great recommendations (from you all here!) for orthopedic specialists and calls are in to some of them so just waiting to hear. He seems comfy and in great spirits, whinnies everytime I go down there and is feeling playful even with the sedation

On the downside we have consulted with some other vets (they have not seen the films) and they have said his chances are pretty slim but I honestly feel he has a chance for recovery in the right hands with the right treatment so no one's giving up yet

He's handling everything really well so far so that's a huge point in his favor.

Thanks everyone

Shauna,

I'm glad spirits are up - both yours and his! That's a huge part of the battle. I wish I had a solution but I don't. If I did I'd have shared it immediately. I'm glad others have had some suggestions that you've been able to pursue. I hope they can come up with something.

In the meantime, please keep giving him our love and know that lots and lots of people are pulling for this little guy!

I am so sorry your little guy has to deal with this.Bless you for giving him a chance. He knows how much you love him.A very dear friend of mine who delivers my foals and is a licensed vet tech deals with many issues of lame and sick horses. She told me the horse will tell you what course of action to take. She has pulled many through some terrible ordeals when all the vets told her just to put them down. She has saved many and those she could not told her when they were ready to go.Sounds like your little guy is a fighter. You are an angel for taking such good care of him.The small size of Minis many times works in their favor with leg issues.Keep us posted

Hi Shauna
