Today is Missy's first visit with our vet. Judy decided she will pay the trip charge

as she has her calm now, and it's a rough road with the rains we've had.

This is very exciting for us today. I've got one question. Judy has a young gelding

that she seems to be winking at. Could this mean that she isnt in foal?? Lord I hope so. Anyway, as soon as I get down off the mountain I will let you all know

what the vet says.

It could possibly be that she is showing to the gelding and she may not be pregnant... (I hope this is the casea!) I have mares that will show to our gelding if he is on the other side of the fence. Heck, if in the same pasture, the gelding gets to trying on a rare occasion.

And I know he was gelded correctly, so no issues there.

Keep us posted!

Hey everyone..

Just got back from Judy's in Oracle. Missy looks like a different horse now that

she is clipped and washed.

The vet report is. She definitely a dwarf. Not only does she have hoove issues

but also has foundered really badly. This little girl has been thru a lot in her

5 years. All her defense mechanisms are in place! Put her on a diet of grass

hay and small amount of calf manna and a carrot or so per day. No grain.

The vet took a blood sample and will be checking for estrogens. She really hopes

she is not bred. If the estrogens are low enough she will give a shot to abort.

She feels she wouldn't live thru a delivery. She is really small!!

I do think Judy will be adopting her. She is bonding with Ruth and Grace the other 2 handicapped horses which makes it nice for everyone...

It will take approx 10 days to get the blood work back from Texas. When the

report comes in I will let everyone know. Please keep good thoughts for this

little one and pray she isn't in foal..
