Vaccines & Donkeys

Hi all,

OK,, I know what to do with horses. But this is my first donkey. Is the timing different than a horse or??

She is 5 months old and has not had any vaccines yet.

When do you give your first set of shots?

Mine get vaccinated as soon as they are weaned.

That is great, will get her fist vaccine out today and get that done.

I'm looking at the inevitable in our future.....

....in that we will have a mini donk some day. What vaccines do they need????

I was told the same vaccines as horses need.

yes the same ones as horses get is correct. from sleeping sickness to WNV if you do give that..

Well, gave her first vaccine this morning. She was very good about it.

And in three to 4 weeks she will get her booster...

Then another three weeks after that, will start her on her WNV.
