my mare aborted this week at day 270 probably due to a twisted umbilical cord and after reading on this forum its seems to be not that unusual , I was reading on the internet about a study that was done in TB's and it said the normal length is between 35 cms and 84 cms ,anything longer could potentially cause problems / death as the foal become more active in the later stages and thus twisting and cutting off the supply of oxygen ,blood and waste products , this has made me wonder what is an average length for a mini ? has anyone ever taken measurements ?
