Tire replacements...what kind?

I haven't been driving long enough and never used a bike long enough to know this answer. Never had "old" tires before.

I just got an old viceroy. The tires have tubes and have stayed up but the rubber is full of cracks. Do they need to be replaced?

Also the tires on it are knobby tread. Wouldn't a slicker (less tread) be better for my OLD man to pull it in the arena?

Next what type of tire (20 x 2.125) do you get......bicycle? and where?

I ose the kevlar bike tires on all of my carts. I get them at walmart. They are about $20. per tire but worth it. I looked the other day and they do have a touring tire in Kevlar in the 20".
