Most of you have probably seen the CNN report on all the dead and missing cattle in LA as a result of the hurricane. The army is trying to help find and save the ones that are still alive. General Honorae (sorry General, I know I spelled it wrong) said they are bringing in hay and feed from many states farther north but need much more transportation to move it.
They said a lot of people in the rural areas have cattle, anywhere from a few to a few thousand. Highway road beds are being used for high ground for some cattle. I just can't imagine the pain of losing so many animals, both financial and emotional.
