Interesting article, but the first horse pictured in the article is frame. May have splash too, but the basic pattern is frame.
 
This is very interesting ESP. Given all the new splash coat testing available. The macchiato coloration looks very much like some of the sabino coloration with the whispy lacey edges. I wonder what will be the future findings. There is so much out there that we don't know.
 
This article is simply a synopsis of the research paper that was released this week that outlines the research beind the Splash tests that are currently available. The article author appears to have taken some journalistic liberty with the first photo. The rest of the photos with the exception of the painting of Blair Athol were taken directly from the research paper and are of horses that were used in the research.
