TAKING TEMP

I HAVE NEVER TAKEN A HORSES TEMP. CAN SOMEONE TELL ME THE RIGHT WAY TO DO THIS? THANKS

Get a digital thermometer (human), dip it in some lube (or sometimes I just dip it in the water bucket), lift the tail, and insert into rectum.

Spit works fine for lube as well. Push the thermometer in gently at an upwards angle. Leave it in until the thermometer beeps. Do not push the thermometer in so far that it enters their anus completely, and make sure you have your finger on it at all times to prevent it from being sucked in. You can always tie a string to the thermometer and wrap around the tail a few times.
