I'm helping my friend decide what classes to enter her section A Welsh in at an all breed pony show. (Well they call it all breed yet they won't let minis in

) She has never shown before and we are not familiar with a few of the terms used so I thought I might try asking in here. There are all the halter classes and then Sport Pony classes example from entry form: class 119. Sport Pony (Open to All Ponies) – Two and under – any sex

120. Sport Pony (Open to All Ponies) – 3 years and over – Mares – 13:2 h & under. I'm assuming these are halter classes as there are ones for two and under. So my question is are these in fact halter classes and if so what are the judges looking for?

suitability for use in dressage, hunter/jumper, eventing, carriage driving (CDE) - there is an American Sport Pony Registry - you go to their web site to see the standards.
