OK first off i just want to say I hate the USPS..i've had more lost stuff!!!

On with the story ......I was talking to my good friend from Texas last week. She was telling me that she got this "Levitra" pen. As you probably know Levitra is made for erectile disfunction. Anyways when you pushed the button the pen shot out like it had a... umm you know

(editing for adult content..use your imagination

). She is a bank teller and said it was so much fun to use that pen and see peoples reactions and really wanted me to have the pen. She sent it in the mail. I got the EMPTY envelope today with the end torn off!!!

Talk about major disapointment!!! I called her up and let her know that the pen did NOT make it. it ruined BOTH of our day!!!!

HEY! i just tried ebay....first place i thought to look....... I couldn't find them.. all that came up under Levitra was condoms.... :DOH! LOL i did find a really cute card too on ebay while searching that was a joke about what's under the irish kilt.. you open the card and flip up the skirt and there's a condom ..hehehe i found that amusing too! lol

Don't feel bad... the last deliveries I had here in Dec.....from UPS...(brown trucks)... my snow shovel was delievered with out its box or mailing address... guy just knocked on our front door and handed the snow shovel to my DS. :DOH!

Our lamp oil.... looks like the box fell out of a moving airplane... was missing two lamp oils containers.

Horse supplement...didn't even get here... ok.. well the box arrived with just the powder stuff floating around. UPS send the broken bag back to the folks we bought it from. They called up an apologized, though they were not the ones that broke the package.

I could go on and on and.......

I just hope the Fudge and goodies my Mom is sending DH & DS.... makes it in one piece because she sent it UPS.

Sigh ~~~

Have also had problems with the new post mistress....but won't go into that one.

Lol we sell show carts.. we were using DHL until they decided to stop servicing 98% of the USA..lol we shipped out a homemade wooden box (7' X 4' X 6" and weighs like 120lbs..) and it got LOST.. completely lost.. we never did find out where it went... GONE.. how do you lose a big wooden box that big??? I mean really.....?

Then we shipped on and it came back to us.. buyer refused shipment because the crate had some big holes in it when it reached him from being beat around by DHL... so it was sent back to us ........all that was left by the time it got back to us was litterally was the 2 X 6 frame work and the various pieces of the VERY banged up cart. not all the smaller pieces came back but amazingly most of it did!! (these are crates we usually used and never had any real problems with damage) Luckly both items were insured but made for a real mess to have to deal with!!! they must have run over it with the fork truck or something.. sheesh!!

I do have to say at least companies like DHL, UPS (big brown), Fed ex all have insurance that they cover most items i want to say under $150.00 automatically so most shipments are automatically insured so if they are damaged your not out much. USPS (postal service) DOESN'T... even their insurance sucks. had to deal with that before too. I really hesitate to send ANYTHING by mail anymore it's become so unreliable not to mention they don't cover THEIR damage.

Just pointing out it's unlikely that anyone at the post office stole your pen. What's more likely is because your friend put a hard object like a pen inside an envelope, it probably tore it's way out during processing.

LOL that's probably likely..however..they probably ARE still having a good time with my pen! lol

DHL SUCKS!

Hubby was one of the 7-11,000 people laid off at their hub in Wilmington Ohio. They made Wilmington and Airborne Express all these promises, then didnt keep their end of the bargain~

Wilmington and the surrounding areas are going to be ghost towns. He was an aircraft mechanic there for 15 yrs.

Sorry, got off on a rant.

yes they do!! that sucks for your husband and that town!! When they 'closed down' pick up/shipping i don't think they even gave me a weeks notice!!! i'm still trying to find another shipper!! I'm just a teeny bit resentful of DHL!!

Well, whoever may have wound up with your naughty pen is also enjoying a lovely watercolour I did for a friend!

Her boyfriend lives in Ireland - and she left to stay with him at Christmas in early December. I finished up the portrait of he BF's horse, packed it carefully and sent it via USPS and the 3 day International Guarantee - in lots of time for it to be there for Christmas. I had a tracking number and the day after I mailed it the number showed it was already in New York City and no doubt waiting for a flight to Ireland.

3 days passed.

A week.

2 weeks.

Christmas came and went and I was all over USPS like ugly on a warthog. They had no clue where it had gone. Tracking still showed it was in NYC for a month or so. Then it abruptly just disappeared off the tracking list.

End of the story - it vanished. All those hours of work!!
default_wacko.png
At least USPS came through with the $$$$ from the guarantee and insurance... but that was not the issue. The BF's birthday is in March - so I am redoing the whole thing - and NO, it will not be going via USPS!!

Have family from that area and I went to college at Wilmington
default_smile.png
Was really hoping they'd be able to work something out down there, but not surprised they didn't.. Hard hit for the town, dad's cousin took a hit like your hubby
default_sad.png
Hoping the college can help keep the town rolling until someone else can step in and offer more jobs, it may not be a BIG campus like Ohio State, but it does turn-out some top-notch graduates

LOL ..... I think tracking for most things is a waste of time. It only tells the last known shipment hub..doesn't seem to tell where it ends up when it gets lost. But when they deliver to the RIGHT place they always ad it..it's like they KNOW they didn't deliver correctly!! Someone must have really liked your painting!!

IM hoping for the best for Wilmington. It is a great little town. I just hope they call pull through this. We ended up putting our house up for sale and moving to upstate NY, back closer to all of our family in NE PA. His job was the only reason we were in Ohio. BUt it was home to us. Super nice people.

when i moved here to Switzerland I packed 10 boxes of my mosr cherished possessions....they never made it here

talk about starting over .

I'd be very upset if i lost my most cherished possessions!! most things that I cherish could never be replaced

WOOHOO !!! It FINALLY arrived. I paid for Priority Mail and sent the package on Jan 10th from Colorado to Washington. In past experience, it only takes a day to Washington, maybe 2 days worse case scenario. Well, it had a large size check in it. When it didnt arrive 2 days later, the seller did not believe I sent it. Then 5 days went by-still NOTHING. So I had to cancel the check- cost $25. then had to drive 85 miles to the bank( gas and my time) and then do a $25 wire transfer to get the monies to the seller of the horse. Well, guess what arrived TODAY??? 31 days later- THE CHECK!!!! I could harm postal employees right now. Make me look like an idiot, non reliable person. I hate them right now. So the post office and I are not friends. I do not trust any of them and refuse to use them if I have to. UGH.

lol i dont' blame you. I tried sendinga package several years ago to a friend... she didn't believe i sent it ... took like a month for her to get it (almost ruined a friendship) over a stupid box THEY messed up on. grrrr at least in the end she saw the stamp of date of mailing and i was telling the truth!!

i hate the USPS... sucks... they should have to take responsibility for their services (or lack there of). grrr

Me personally. Other services- DHL use to come thru one time every two weeks, yes, if they had a package of mine, it sat in the truck for 2 weeks and drove down the road from me because they were not delivering to me but one time every two weeks, the road they drove on was a 1/2 mile away, so I watched my package drive by two times a day. UGH Then I have UPS, they deliver here about everyday, but cannot pick up unless I pay a $75monthly rural pick up fee. So if I need to ship, it is a 196 mile round trip for me to drop off, almost 2 hours just one way. The same for FedEX. So then I have the wonderful Post Office, they do not deliver to us either, we have to go to a Post Office and pick up our mail. Makes it really hard because if our physical address gets on the envelope, they automatically send it back, EVEN when the PO Box is written right underneath the physical. Sometimes my name and POBox is on there and someone sends it back anyway. I have all the packages and envelopes from September that have been returned for no known reason. I have filed several complaints and it is just the same old thing-The mail has just disappeared, must have got lost, or is delayed for about a month or just has just been returned. My last Priority envelope was stamped in Colorado saying “Found in Empty Equipment”, whatever that means, on Jan. 10. Have no idea where it’s been since then. The government is trying to decide about cutting service back to 5 days, Heck, with the record they have, they might as well be opened 2 days a week and we should start up the Mini Express and deliver items with the minis on our carts !!! ha ha ha

Personally I use very, very little mailings of any kind. If not for the net my bills would always be late! I have one bill that is not set up for net payment
default_wacko.png
So, I write & deliver one check a month! Of course I feel compelled to ask and complain when they say "no, not changed for net"
default_laugh.png

AT my previous work, however, I had to mail "packages" of weekly paperwork to the home office. Since the rate & packaging for the "Priority" (what a joke THAT title is) was better than the first class, it is what was most often used. It always took twice as long to arrive "me to them" than something mailed "them to me". Caused some issues when it took waaaay longer than the usual 3 days they suggest at USPS. But, only ONE package was totally lost in 2 yrs, so pretty good compared to what you guys have experienced. The time was so bad (5-10 days, vice 3) for these things that I got to where I ALWAYS went to the PO to drop them, to be able to have proof of date sent!! Let's say that after I was able to document that the USPS was almost always late, the inuendos that things had not been sent had to be shelved -- I could prove that they had a package!

Guess my area of the country -- East Coast -- has better records for distribution accomplishment than the Western portion.
