Sounds like testing for the Skeletal Atavism type of dwarfism will be available in the fairly near future. Skeletal Atavism is the type that produces the wiener dog looking minis; normal bodies with shortened and crooked legs.

Love the byline on this story! "Genetic test helps ponies leave the past behind" I sure hope breeders use all the genetic testing available to them including this one. I've seen several of this type used for breeding. I couldn't find a price on the listed places where this test is available. UC Davis under USA is one but they only have SyncroGait available.. and that is 350.00 ! I hope the Skeletal Atavism test is no where near that price.
