when you sell a horse that has temp papers ....can the new person bring them permenent along with the transfer......or do you have to do that before you sell....horse is of age..how do you sell a horse with papers when they are sent in AMHA?AMHR....do you just show a copy and give a guarantee of registration papers??? Now that I read over this it really sounds dumb but maybe it will help someone else also....

Haven't done it with AMHR, but I've sold an AMHA horse close to their 5th birthday. I sent the transfer AND papers in for Permenant status with the photos in myself. They were fine with that and I only needed one set of photos that way.

Both transactions can be done at the same time by the buyer, if necessary. The permanent papers are at age three for AMHR, but at age five for AMHA.
