Well, the scammers are studying up a little bit and learning from our advise. I got the following email yesterday:

Hello,

Do you still have the "Songcatchers Unchained Melody " up for sale? coz I am

interested in buying..

Let me know..

George

This caught me a little off guard because I have had some others recently who are not scammers who didn't sound much different. So, I replied:

Melody is still for sale. She is currently listed on the LB Last Chance

Auction. The current bid is $1,250.oo, but the reserve has not yet been

met. You can go to the auction by clicking on this link.

Let me know if you would like more pictures or any other information on her.

Then, this morning I got this back from George:

Hello,

With thanks I acknowledge the receipt of your email and I noted the contents

very well,I am glad you mailed back and I want you to know that I

really, appreciate your response..So happy she's still up for sale..So do you

have any other buyer? Just wondering though!

Anyway, I am from Kentucky but currently at work in the UK with

ChevronTexaco and I wont be able to come and see personally coz I am so busy

with Work right now. The picture came out clearly and I must confess that I

am really impressed. If you have more dont hesitate to send them to me. Can

you please tell me more about her?

I can make you a offer of $1500. I do hope I can get to buy him from you

without any problem. I do mean to sound rude but I have been Conned before

and i paid alot of money and never got anything.I just have to be careful

and honestly I hope we can trust each other.

Awaiting your response,

Regards,

George

Isn't it amazing how they always want us to "trust each other"? I replied:

Thank-you for your kind offer. However, at this time, all bids must be made

through the LB Last Chance Auction.

Freeland

I suspect this is the last I will hear from George.

I got an email from George too. I wasn't for sure it was a scam at first, but I could tell it was from the second one.

I got an email from George also... He emailed me about my 2 senior studs. I have them out on a couple sales sites as AT STUD. He emailed and asked if I still had them for sale and that he was interested in them. I emailed him back right away and told him that the boys weren't for sale and were ONLY AT STUD as my ad had stated!

: I knew right away that it was a scam because I never had my boys for sale!

Looks like they're beginning to word things more carefully. Although they don't quite have it mastered yet

: I almost got took several years ago when I was trying to sell a Governess cart. They Dang near got me on that one. I was new to the internet thing and although I felt like something wasn't right, it wasn't until a friend of mine mentioned scams happening out of Nigeria that it clicked( Thank goodness!) I'd have been out $4000.00 :new_shocked:

Thanks for sharing

Yep, 'George' is part of the ol' Nigerian gang... they just keep on at it. If you read carefully, you can tell the grammar is not quite right. Nor is the capitalizing of some words like Work, where a capital letter would not be correct.

I do not answer them ever, but I do report them ALL.

I have also been getting TONS of scam emails from ebay- up to FIVE in one day- about 'unpaid' items or that there is a dispute and my response is required... all scams. (especially since I have nothing on ebay that is being sold or bought)

It is ridiculous to put up with this on a daily basis....... gets old after a while!

I got a similiar email from the SAME person it looks like this:

Hello,

Do you still have the "'bay yearling Buckeroo grandson." up for sale? coz I am interested in buying..

Let me know..

John

This was my reply because it looked suspious :

Dean is still for sale. He can be seen on our website.Let me know what I can answer

Then I got this and I knew:

So what is your final asking price? I do no want to make you a silly offer, just let me know what you're looking for! I do hope I can get to buy him from you without any problem. I do mean to sound rude but I have been Conned before and i paid alot of money and never got anything.I just have to be careful and honestly I hope we can trust each other.

I wasn't so nice in the second email. And note he used two different names for ending the email. So that is 2 scammers this week. The first by phone and then this email. They are getting desperate.

Everyone PLEASE be careful and I think EVERYONE should send him a email that we are on to him

Another thing I just noticed- Chevron and Texaco are NOT the same company and have no merger going on either. They are two completely seperate corporations!

Also, PLEASE report these people to the email services they are using- hotmail, yahoo, etc...... so their email addies can be cancelled. Unfortunately they will open an new one with a different name in the addie but it will make life more difficult for them and possibly help someone track them down and hopefully prevent them from opening more at some point!

This is probably a stupid question, but you do you do that? I hit the "report spam" button in my email, but I believe that only goes to my email server?
