I would like to start sand clear, Ginny is still preggo, she is starting to nibble on the sprouts of grass that are coming up. Most of her lot is sand, is sand clear ok in preggo and lactating mares? The container doesn't say it is or isn't.

Haven't ever used sand clear but we use pure psyllium powder husk every day. You shouldn't have an issue.

Call the company and ask your vet too. Easy peasy.

I've fed physillium --the generic Sand Clear -- for 1 week every month here for years -- since my horses are on dry-lots only. Never had a problem with it in any pregnant mares. More afraid what would happen if they weren't on it.

Ginny generally does not have a dry lot, but this year since we dug in a water tank and lines last fall, she now has a lot of sand in her paddock, she nibbles on the grass that is coming up and I worry about sand colic. So I started her on the sand clear. She is due any day now! Thats a another story!!

It's all natural and won't have adverse effect. Safe to use!
