Our wonderful horse, Mooney (Stormy Rivers Show Me The Money), took his trip across the rainbow bridge today. He was an amazing boy and we miss him terribly. His paddock was right outside our back door, so it's hard going out there now because he isn't there saying hi when the door opens. We've had him for about 12-13 years and he was 25yrs old. Our vet said his liver was giving out and he started having some neurological symptoms this weekend, so we made the decision to let him pass as peacefully as we could. Our vets and vet techs are amazing and we are so thankful for them. This is the part of having pets that I absolutely hate. I hate when we have to let them go. I'm just glad he isn't in pain, confused about why his body isn't working correctly, or scared. He's free now. The picture with him and my daughter was taken last month and the other was several years back. He was loved very much his whole life by the family we got him from and then by us.

I'm so sorry. I will feel the same about my older boy, I know.
Was there any information why the liver failed? It helps others sometimes to have a little more knowledge.
Goodbye, Mooney.
She didn't know why. She said the only way to look into it was bloodwork. He had a mild colic episode last weekend and she said it's possible it was related. She said it's also possible it was just his time and his body was just shutting down. 😔
