I'll set the scene:

Watched some very scary movies with the Hus. One was Wrong Way and the other one was something about something in the woods. Being a Weenie and all it was so scary I couldn't finish it. Went to bed. I woke up around 3:30 AM the other night SCREAMING

Why?

Here's why:

Rule #1 Do not scare yourself!

If your bedroom window happens to be right off of the front porch,

and if you hang a Halloween windsock on your front porch like this:

when the wind blows, it will do this:

Windsock gone.

I rest my case.

LOL - and THAT'S why I don't watch scary movies.

I watched Grizzly with a date one night while living at home. Our house was in town, but one side was woods.

Never slept a wink all night!!

I used to LOVE to watch scary movies!!! But, then it happened....When I was twenty-four I was up late one night watching trilogy of terror..It was about a transylvania devil or something that was kept in a crate under the stairs. A man found it and decided to let it eat his wife,(She nagged at him all the time). Its eyes glowed BRIGHT RED like a LCD light..That move scared the begebbies out of me! The movie went off I got up to go to bed and "there it was" at the end of the LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOONG DARK HALLWAY......A Bright Red Eye looking at me!!! Needless to say I had everyone up in the house from my sheer panic attack...Hubby thought I had lost my mind. You see, I had to go past that RED EYE to get to my bedroom. After the lights were turned off and on SEVERAL times to prove to me it was a FIRE PROTECTER BATTERY INDICATOR LIGHT, I went to bed....EVER since that night 2 things have happened to change my life forever...#1...EVERY RED light in my house has duck tape over it. We do not even have an alarm clock that has a RED light to indicate AM or PM in it....#2...After watching that Stupid scary movie, I started to sleep walk.... The last straw for my hubby was when my neighbor found me outside at 2:30am pulling weeds in the rose garden, in the front yard totally NUDE!!!! I don't know who was more embarrased, me or him when he called my hubby to tell him I was outside nude pulling weeds...Talk about the talk of the neighborhood! So I quit watching scary movies and the sleep walking stopped too...Nope...NO MORE SCARY MOVIES!

OH Marty! Will the Halloween decorations go up this year?

And Liz that would be so scarey.

I read part of a book one time a few years back that gave me the worst nightmares I threw it away. I couldn't finish it.

. I haven't yet not been able to go to bed after watching one.

Marty, be brave, put your windsock back up.

I had a friend in Grade School that told me a great story of one halloween night.

Greg(my friend) begged his parents to let him stay up to watch a chucky movie. His parents finally gave in but told him that as soon as it was over he had to go to bed. He watched the movie the whole way through without getting too scared. As soon as it was over he went to bed. Just as he was falling asleep he heard a tapping on his bedroom window. Greg got up to see what it was and there was CHUCKY holding a chainsaw. Greg screamed like a little girl and hid in his parents room. Greg's dad came in after him laughing with a chainsaw and a my buddy doll in hand. Greg loved it, thought it was too funny. To this day he says that that was the best halloween ever, but he didn't sleep in his own room for a full year after.

My husband and I are big horror movie fans. We can't wait till halloween, its our favorite holiday.

I enjoy scary suspense movies, but not all of the bllod and guts stuff, my stomach can't handle it. One of the best scary movies I have ever seen that was so realistic are the Poltergeist movies. Oh, and the Stephen King movie "Cats Eye", with the different stories, especially the breath stealing troll, or worse yet, the airplane monster in the Twilight Zone Movie. Or even the corny, but twisted "Nightmares" movie with the giant rat. EEEWWWWW, I just got shivers!

My wife did the same thing a while back with a witch. she built it over an old floor lamp. the lamp was wobaly and the wind had spun it around facing the window. our son said he saw someone looking in the window. when she went to look there was no one there but about the time she pressed her face to the glass the wind blew it up against the glass! no more witches out on the porch. they all look out now. DR.
