I'm not sure if some of you remember me (It has been awhile)

Remi was the "oops" baby from a mare who was supposedly not pregnant (per a blood test) and then a year ago today he popped out!

Remi is doing absolutely wonderful, freshly gelded about two or so weeks ago and mended beautifully! We still haven't quite figured out what he'll turn out to be... Out of a Silver Dapple mare and a Bay Stallion.

Just the other day... I can't believe the handsome 'lil man he's turned into! That's Mum on the left and him on the right (of course)

We just acquired a lovely new gelding who has some showing/driving background and I'm hoping to continue that path with Remi as well! My job has been very demanding and frankly annoying... They received my two weeks notice today, so hopefully it'll settle down a bit ;)

I remember you and Remi, what a lovely boy he is.

Im hopeless with colours so wont comment there

Thanks for the update , love seeing how all the foals born around here are growing into ladies and gentleman.

Thank you for the kind comments!

I was secretly hoping he'd turn into a Silver Bay ;) He's already quite handsome and I'll be a little color shallow

I'm excited for his future.

I say he's a silver bay.

For comparison, our silver bay pinto has too much pattern white to compare to. He really does look like a chestnut - you only know he's not because both of his parents were tested homozygous black (no chestnut). He has no "color" where his "points" would be (other than his ears - will have to take pics later) and mostly white mane & tail.

The mare, though, is a little different... again, she can not be a chestnut as her sire is homozygous black though she could have gotten a red gene from her dam (don't know). Wow, I never realized how few pics I have of Flower when she is shed out. Sorry for the dirty legs in the first pic - besides being a pasture pony, several had runny stools then, too...

You're mare is absolutely beautiful and he's looking soooooo handsome as well.

Do you have pics of the new horse? What are your plans with him/her?

^ Beautiful mini's and thank you for taking the time to explain colors a bit more in detail for me. Genetics can be quite daunting to me in regards to colors!

I did manage to find a picture of Remi's, ehm, father. Definitely got his face... Thankfully he appears to be put together much nicer than his father ;)

Here is the new addition "Coal." He was originally an Amish pulling "pony" and the lady we purchased him from retrained him and later made the difficult decision to let him go. He's a guru in the cart and halter classes (two I really want to pursue). He's an absolute love bug! He's larger than a Class "B". I believe he's just at or above 39". The plan is to pursue driving and in hand classes (ultimately the whole plan for the mini's in work)

What's that saying about Mini's and potato chips? My Mom has been bitten... She decided to bring home this 8 year old double registered Mini mare. 33.5" or so tall. She came to us as "Pandora." She's broke to lead and I believe that's all I'm aware of that she knows. We're going to give her time to detox from her move and then start doing sensitizing to the daily activities. I own three large horses and the more I mess with these guys... The more I believe I'll start transitioning to the Mini's

Meeting through the fence. Remi was smitten. She's quite a "knee snapper" as opposed to Sierra who is a fairly flatknee mover.

Oh! We don't own Remi's Sire... Never even met him, just was told "This is who Misty was turned out with." I was going to edit that but waited too long :p

OOOOOOO both Pandora and the black mini (Coal) are beautiful!! He is obviously black and she also looks to be silver bay.

Here are some pics I took of our silver bay/white gelding today. Didn't get closeups of the area around his ears, though.
