I had a filly born last night. The mare has a very small bag but has milk. I had my vet do an IgG test and she tested great. The problem is she seems to nurse constantly. The mare I think is getting a bit sore. Is there anyway to stimulate her milk production? I asked my vet and she said she would check. I asked about Domperidone (sp?) but she said that is only for some sort of toxicity and milk production. She said Oxytocin but that would make her crampy. The foal was born at 11:00 last night and just doesn't seem to be as active as they normally are. I am just worried that she isn't getting enough to eat. Any ideas?
