I put the horses out to graze a little by the persimmon tree. Peanut, my oldest just loves them. Well I decided to check and see if it was okay for pregnant horses. The first ad was lil beginnings! Back in 2005. Well I moved them away from the tree. I only have 5 of them! Thank goodness only one produces. This is the best link ever!

Be very careful about persimmons and horses! My uncle lost 2 full size mares to them a couple years ago. We had a huge tree in our pasture, and much as I hated to do it, we cut it down. My vet says it's the seeds that cause the problems. They stick together in the stomach and intestines and cause an impaction that only surgery can resolve! Glad you moved your horses away from them!

They are toxic to horses, I wouldn't recommend them eating any. Good thing you moved them!
