Sorry l know this must have been asked a million times so now l don't know the answer because l was never interested and payed attention before. Our club has 2 AMHR shows one in mid June the other first week in Aug with 2 judges at each would that be enough time to get entries in for Nationals in Sept or do you need to have shown at those shows the year before...l was under the impression it was 2 shows 6 judges but my friend says no just 2 shows 4 judges and you don't even need to place well in order to get to Nationals. Thanks in advance

It is 2 shows 4 judges. It's true you can show in a color class and you can still qualify. I don't think you even need to place. Entries will be due before your August show but just be sure to write down the show that you will be going to.

You do not need to place, but you DO have to enter the class. So you could go and show in 1 class at 2 shows with 2 judges and qualify. But where's the fun in that?

Showing at Nationals is a blast, but so is supporting your local shows. And it's a whole lot cheaper to attend most local shows, and the people, just like at Nationals, are terrific. We get just as much thrill doing well at Local shows as we do if we do well at the National level. Sometimes even more because we KNOW the calibre of the horses that are in our local area!!!
