A new 30-second spot on Barack Obama's Web site is urging voters to "talk to your boss" or professor and then take the day off from work or school to volunteer for his campaign on Election Day.

Can you take next Tuesday off from work, join the final push, and make sure that everyone who supports Barack turns out to vote?" a

BUT hasn't the media already told us that Obama HAS already won!

Guess Obama has never held a 8 - 5 job! This is a perfect example of how Obama thinks about businesses. He's never had a real job and doesn't have a clue about how the world works and he wants to be President!

Since Lee is a teacher & they are using his district for voting we have the day off anyway - Guess i'll go drive some republicans to vote!

Yes, Obama is the one out of touch with reality when McCain owns seven houses.

Why the heck isnt election day a national holiday, anyway? While I think Obama is silly to ask people to take it off for "his campaign" I've thought for years its a day that people should have off anyway.

I waited in line for 4 hours during PRIMARIES, and I ended up having to take a provisional ballot anyway. I have no idea how long it will take me to wait through it on the actual election day. And our state only allows 2 hours off.

Its an important day. One day off every four years to determine the fate of our country. Its not the end of the world.

In many countries election day is a holiday, which isn't a bad idea. I'm not quite sure why you are concerned about people actually going to the polls. Don't we as citizens need to do our duty and vote, no matter which party or person one supports? Or is your main concern that, historically, large turnouts

tend to favor the democrats as many young and first time voters are expected to visit the polls for the first time? Seems to me you're making a mountain out of a molehill. I think it would be great if every LEGALLY registered voter could make it to the polling place and cast their ballot. IMO, very little good comes from voter apathy and I welcome all voters no matter if someone else helps them with transportation issues. I don't really care who one votes for as it is their personal decision, but do vote.

BTW, I think it would be great if you drive some republicans to vote, but be carefull you may never know where those liberal, left wing socialist may be hiding.

With record voter turnout expected, some people may need a lot longer than that. I'm also seriously considering volunteering for Obama on election day. The only reason I'm not voting early is that I vote in our tiny local community and there's not usually a long wait.

It was simply a retort to Obama being out of touch with people that work an 8 to 5. All politicians are out of touch with people that work 8 to 5, and I was simply adding my two cents. Horrible of me, I know, to not let Obama get slammed without inserting a word or two about McCain.

Obama isn't asking people to take the day off JUST to vote - he is asking for volunteers to push him over the finish line!

Who is Obama talking to when they show the picture of the arrow pointing to the couch and the words "you can't make history from here"! How many of you do your work from a couch?

Apparently Obama is NOT talking to people that have jobs here. Is this his non insulting way of saying "get yourself up off the couch this one time to go vote for me so you can "share the wealth" thereafter". Obama is counting on a lot of people that historically don't vote. I think some people might be offended by this couch picture & those words. (my opinion)

I'm not quite sure why you are concerned about people actually going to the polls.

No concern here but how many employers are going to tell their employees "you want the whole day off then you tell Obama to pay you for that day".

Well he's out of luck as we already voted for McCain and didn't have to even miss work to do it.
