Have had trouble getting pictures onto my webpage lately, so photobucket came to the rescue and I can post our progress. This is our new barn, complete with living quarters for the next 6-8 months while we build a house. Or longer if the cost of fuel and building products keeps going up

Pictures are first from the back, still open to the view. Will be stalls end to end, large stall on either end and 10-12 mini stalls between. In the front, living quarters on the right and wash/grooming area to the left, then tack room, hay storage on the end, and a large porch on the front center. We are supposed to be out of the old house next week

so we are in high gear. Rain from Rita would not help. I think it will be after World before we actually move, still lots to do but it's getting close. Well is in, electricity running, and septic being drawn. House is 80% packed up, storage unit rented......and I'm getting ready to leave for a week for World.

Not a popular decision here lol.

Oh Jan, that looks wonderful! Do you have a view as beautiful as it appears?

If I had my druthers I'd have a house in my barn. I have visited several wonderful barn/homes like that in the past......big horse. But alas it's not to be here with zoning and building codes etc.

I bet your name is 'mud' going off to World at this time, but sometimes we have to decide where our priorities lie.....the moving will get done, but 2005 World will only be once.

Are you supposed to get any of that heavy rain from Rita?

Should have added, living quarters are about 500 square feet.

It's going to be a little "close" in there, but I think I will enjoy being in the barn

Charlotte, they first forcast heavy rain here but since it turned east we've had nothing at all yet. That may change Monday or so when the cold front backs it up again, but I think the living quarters at least will be dried in by then. I had visions of our new roof becoming a parachute if Rita had come through here!

The view is pretty. There is a creek at the bottom of the hill, although it's dry now. Bantam Farm is our neighbor, so I will look out on their 30-40 horses as well as mine.

Jan, That's almost an understatement!!!

I went to see Jan last year while "living" in Austin. She took me out to see the new place and it was incredible. Rolling hills, the stream at the bottom, lots of pasture room and plenty of trees.

Your barn is going to be really nice! Very pretty and in a beautiful setting. Hope you get everything ready in time.

Have a great time at World and Good Luck!

Jan it looks wonderful and what a beautiful view you have. Nice looking chunk of property too. I know you will be happy there and living in the barn sounds great to me.

Have a great time at the show and be careful.
