Does anyone have any tips on teaching a yearling to lead? I got a very sweet, timid jennet that really had no training what so ever; and now I am trying to teach her to lead. I have found it is different than teaching my mini horses and so frustrating. I need HELP!! There has to be some way. Holding pressure and releasing as you do when teaching a horse just doesn't work. I am lucky to get one foot forward at a time, of course unless its something she has decided she wants to do and then she'll just walk right along. Slowly, but at least she'll walk.
