A friend of mine (who does not have a computer) asked me ask you folks a question regarding an unplanned breeding. One of her stallions jumped a fence today and bred a shetland mare. He is a mini. Is there a shot that will make the mare abort (like in dogs?) and if so, when is it given? I will pass your info on to her.

Thanks,

Pam

Don't you hate when that happens?

Yes there is a shot. It's $12.00. Have her call the vet.

And the shot should be given ASAP.

The shot should be given when the mare is next due in season, if she does not come into season. It is NOT the same as in dogs. Check with your Vet.
