I have a horse who has some grass seeds imbedded under his tongue.

I need to rinse out his mouth but I'm out of betadine solution.....just figures right

Can I use Listerine or Nolvasan diluted with water???

He'll likely fight the Listerine; I'm not sure if the Nolvasan would be safe for oral use. Can you just rinse them out with plain water and keep an eye on it just in case it gets infected?

Well there was alot of them under his tongue and it's pretty dang bloody so I wanted to rinse with something more substantial than water.

At the dog vet clinic I used to work at we used Nolvasan on dogs when doing dentals so I was hoping it would be ok for a horse.

I called my vet but he's in an emergency call and since it's Saturday I really don't want to have to bother him later tonight.

I might call him anyway...........just thought I'd see if the forum family knew first.
