I entered my girl "Spring" in a total of 6 driving classes and came home with 6 top fives! I just love this girl. She's definitely a once in a lifetime kinda horse and I'm so happy I have the priviledge of calling her mine. I owe a huge thanks to Ricky Wardlaw of Cygnet Training for making her the driving horse she it today. He won't toot his horn, so I'll do it for him. He does an absolutely amazing job with any horse that enters his barn. He's not too shabby when it comes to coaching Ammy's like me either!

Anyway, here are the pictures I've been eagerly anticipating:

Congratulations, great job for all of you. And yes I agree, Ricky does a wonderful job too.

Thanks everybody. She's a really cool horse. I wish she would keep her color through Nationals. She's a deep golden palomino until August and then starts turning white.

Great pictures! She is beautiful! Congrats!!

I saw you at Nationals driving in amateur and was totally impressed by you and your mare! Came down after your class to tell you how wonderful I thought you were. I was sitting in the stands with a trainer and we thought you had the horse in that class that truly fit "western country pleasure".

Congratulations!

Steph, "six Top Fives" doesn't even cover those two Reserve National Championships I see!

Wow!!! (And is that a blue ribbon too? As in National Champion?!)

:yeah

I am SO glad to see a horse like her sweeping the division. Unlike so many of them she's balanced, moving correctly up into the bridle through her poll, tracking up, has some energy and impulsion and yet still totally fits the "relaxed and sweepy" thing. LOVE HER!!

Leia

P.S.- You've got me thinking it might be worth it this winter to train Kody to work towards the new standard and take him out again next spring. I refuse to train him to slop along with his nose out and his neck flat, but if a decent outline can still win....hmm.

Thank you so much everyone!

CASINO, I remember talking with you. I was fighting back tears of joy as we were speaking. To know that people had her picked out as their favorite in a class of over 50 other horses just amazes me. One of the judges had her pinned first as well in that class. That class was my first driving class and I was soooo nervous about maneuvering through all of the other horses.

Leia - YES! Of those six top fives, two of them were reserves and one was champion. I was commenting to some friends of mine that if there was a cloud above 9 I was definitely on it!!!(Still haven't come back down yet!) I don't know Kody, but you should definitely bring him out and give it a try!
