Honestly I think music is more for the spectators "amusment". When i'm in the ring i'm usually so focused i dont' even notice the music much. I'm sure it does pump the horses up a bit more if it's the right type of music but overall it's to "fill the gaps" for the spectators. I do like light background music at show's that I"m watching and if it's the "right kind" i like it as far as being a handler goes

Especially if the music is appropriate for the class. It's funny but at AMHA Nationals, I think it was 92', I still remember the music the organist played for the driving classes
