I have a mare that had always gotten bred on the first time. She has had 4 foals all back to back, so last year I felt sorry for her and gave her a yr off. Well not im kicking myself in the butt becuase I can't get her bred. She was bred in May, came back in June and was bred, then came back again for this month. I am breeding her again but I dont understand what her problem is. She's never had a problem getting in foal before whats her deal now? I know that when you give them a yr off they do have a harder time taking but this is rediculous.

Maybe she should be checked out by a reproduction specialist. She could have a bacteria infection. We have a mare that has a hard time and found out she is sucking in air which is keeping her from getting bred. Good luck, I know how frustrating it can be. dionne

Ours did the same thing last year as yours is doing. She had a bacterial infection that was cleared up in three days with the vet flushing her with antibiotics and she has taken on the first cycle after that procedure.

Check with a repro vet specialist- could be many things.
