What exactly is the Lethal White gene? What kind/color horses does it show up in (I'm guessing white lol), what does it cause, what does it produce, and when is it Lethal? I have heard it mentioned often and want to know exactly what it is. Thanks in advance!

Im no expert, but I believe it is related to the overo genes. I no that horses can only carry one copy of the LWO gene or else it is fatal. Im still learning myself though, so I may be wrong.

Yes lethal white is an overo gene. Also called "frame" If you breed two horses carrying lethal white you have a 25 percent chance of a lethal white foal which will only live a few days and then die.

Frame can hide though so its best to always test a horse that could have this gene.

this site explains it well with pics
