I finially got the results from Wee Foal in New Zealand! Dr Henderson was fantastic, it took a very long time for my sample to reach him. But good news!

Hello Bonny,

The urine sample that you sent from your mare Bonny finally turned up! I

ran it through our laboratory assay which is a quantitaitve assay, and

also through our Wee-Foal-Checker test. All the tests returned a

positive result which indicates that Bonny is indeed pregnant. The

results from the quantitative test retuned a value of over 10ug/ml,

which is typical for a pregnant mare. It is difficult to state from the

result how far along in gestation she is. However, given that the value

is still in the range typical of pregnancy, I suspect that she still has

a few months to go before foaling.

Many thanks for sending over the urine sample, though it must have been

very frustrating for you at the time it took to reach NZ. Do drop me a

line when Bonny foals, and if you have a photo of the new foal, it would

be great to have a copy. Please contact me if you have any further

queries.

With kind regards,

Keith

Yay!!! I'm so glad you finally know for sure that she is preggers. My mare tested on day 106 had a level of 15.8ug/ml. Congratulations.

Congratulations Bonny, so now you can figure out when you need to be watching her. It sounds like it was the last breeding date.

Thanks Yall,

Lyn, I am guessing January because she was with a stally last Feb and the vet saw what he said was at least 6 months. That was July 31st. Making her about 8 months now....If she did take in May her uterus wouldnt have been that large. But yea, now we have time!
