This year marks the 25th anniversary of the epic AMHR National Show. What are some of your favorite memories from this stellar event over the years?

-Great costumes?

-Good times?

-Special events?

-The scooter gang?

-The touching displays & community spirit prevalent in 2001 just days after the 9/11 attacks?

-The youth dance or carnival?

-The things you just had to be there to witness ... like the "Bob & Larry Show"?

Share your memory with the special anniversary project of the ASPC/AMHR! The association's Historical Committee began work on this project a year ago and we need your input.

Please see the article by project chair Michele Presley in the December 2013 Journal. As Michele wrote, we would like to make the 25th Anniversary ...

"a celebration of not just champion, but rather, a celebration of participants, the people and horse who travelled to the National show, making it the extravaganza that is is today."

The anniversary celebration planning group is looking for your memories. Please share them. We are looking for quality copies of photographs along with your stories and reminiscences, particularly of those very early years."

Send memories to...

Please note - the Historical Committee has been OFFICALLY tasked by the AMHR Board of Directors with tasking the AMHR Nationals 25th Anniversary Celebration. Amy Roberts is the chair of the ASPC/AMHR Historical Committee. Please, we ask members to contribute in any way they can to the OFFICIAL celebration ofthe AMHR Nationals 25th Anniversary!

THANKS to the folks who stepped up to volunteer so recently. At this point, we are looking for....

1) some folks willing to be IN CHARGE of a couple of the remaining areas

2) people who will be in Tulsa who can help with the areas/activities we've been planning

Until then ... Michele Presley is waiting for you to share your great memories and wonderful stories. See the article in the December issue of The Journal.

Since so many assumed we've been doing nothing, we're changing up our schedule of planned effort. Watch for an Eblast from the registry soon. Also, we have cleared things up now with entity who holds the licensing and merchandising contract. There could be a great opportunity for our artisitic members in relation to the anniversary celebration. So ... watch for more details in the Eblast and The Journal.

THANKS!

Amy Roberts Clark

Chair, Historical Committee.

This topic is marked as the

Official AMHR National Show 25th Anniversary ProjectLets take it from there and let the members start to contribute.

ALL the members, including committee members, should for the good of the AMHR ASPC registry come together to get this done.
Anything you need, ideas or even problems please email me personally.

We welcome people's sharing of memories. Please, email your great stories directly. See the article in the December Journal for the coordinator's contact info. We will not be running things Lil Beginnings, so if you post here, they may get overlooked.
